Today it is more important than ever to develop, program and design websites in a way that they are mobile optimized, fast and user-friendly.
We have been developing websites since 1997 (even before Google existed) and therefore have one of the longest experiences in web design and web development in Germany.
With the first development of our own websites of our advertising agency in 1997 and a first own blog in 2002, ambiente-mediterran.de, when the word "blog" was still unknown (the sites today have over 100.000 users per month) as well as our own CMS development, we were able to follow and test the entire phases of search engine optimization and develop our expertise as an SEO agency in Berlin.
In the early 2000s, users were still "surfing" intensively through the Internet to see what was available. At the end of the noughties, they still browsed the search result pages up to the 3. or even 5. Page, as the search engines don't always show the pages you want.
Today, the first 3 results are clicked on 70%, but already at position 10 only about 5%! And if you only show up on the second or third page of results, you'll get virtually no clicks at all.
The 10 most important SEO tips
We are happy to support you as SEO Agency Berlin in optimizing your pages for search engines and advise you on all relevant points. A book tip on search engine optimization with Google can also be found in our marketing column.
But here we have already provided you with the most important 10 tips for SEO, how you can bring your pages as far as possible to the front:
Tip 1: Navigation structure
The so-called. Speaking URLs, i.e. page names that already contain possible search words, are one of the most important points in the structure of the pages. Therefore, if possible, already pay attention to it when choosing your domain name. If you have already occupied a URL, pay attention in the creation of the navigation structure, that is, your other pages on the most search-relevant terms.
WordPress and many other CMS already bring this function of the speaking URLs with them.
Tip 2: Mobile optimized
Google's statement "mobile first" has long been valid. Because now more than half of all accesses are made via smartphones or tablets, i.e. mobile. The search engines downgrade pages that are not mobile optimized, even on desktops.
Tip 3: Speed
If you have to wait an unnecessarily long time for content to load, you'll quickly be gone again. It is important to slim down page content, CSS, HTML structure, but also to optimize images in such a way that they require the shortest loading times at the best possible resolution.
Tip 4: Design
When designing a website, a good user interface design is decisive for the success or failure of a site. Depending on the type of website, more and more users are accessing the pages via smartphones, even in the BtoB area.
Tip 5: Use CMS
The days should be long gone when you had to call your web agency to make a small change on your pages. A CMS (Content Management System) like e.g. WordPress enables you to change or exchange content in a very simple and user-friendly way, without having to have programming knowledge.
Tip 6: Optimize snippets
The sog. "Snippets" are the text excerpts that are displayed in the search results. Although the search engines often pull out the displayed content themselves depending on the search term, you should use your own texts and a sog. Provide focus keyword or even a focus keyphrase (multiple keywords). There are also some excellent plug-ins for this purpose, e.g.B. from Yoast.
Tip 7: Optimize texts
The search engines want to provide the user with the best possible (answer) page for the respective search term or search phrase (consisting of several words or even a whole question) and display it high up. Because only if he gets as soon as possible a page that is correct and relevant for him, he remains loyal to the search engine. Thus, each page should contain these relevant terms several times (so-called keyword density), as well as similar, respectively. contain semantic text parts. However, these terms should not appear too often, because this makes it difficult to read and you are suspected of keyword spam.
Tip 8: Optimize images
This point is too often neglected even by SEO professionals. You underestimate that users also reach your pages via image search. And Google also evaluates whether the so-called. "alt-tags" have been filled in, i.e. the alternative description of the images. Because this way it is also possible for blind people to have read to them what can be seen on a built in picture. And in addition, this text also appears if an image has not yet been loaded.
Tip 9: Use Analytics
It is worthwhile to analyze the pages every few days or weeks. This will tell you which pages are accessed the most, how many users access via desktop, mobile or via tablet, and much more. Many providers offer their own analytics tool if you don't want to use Google or Bing analytics services.
Tip 10: Use webmaster tools (Bing or Google or both)
Do not leave the control only to your webmaster or agency. Especially with the point search queries you learn a lot about your pages. For example, which pages get the most hits, on which rank which page is ranked, what the CTR (click-through-rate) is, i.e. how often your page is clicked on for certain keywords, etc.
These are our most important tips for search engine optimization. In addition, other factors (Google speaks of more than 200) flow into the ranking of a page. You can influence almost all of them yourself. We as SEO Agency Berlin would like to show you which ones they are and how you can influence them.
